I guide from lived experience, not distant expertise. As the child of itinerant evangelists, I learned the territory of displacement before I had language for it. I witnessed spiritual abuse within toxic religious communities. These exposures gave me pattern recognition that academic training alone cannot replicate. Clients tell me I am the first person who has named what was done to them without requiring them to minimize or excuse it. I see what others have missed or dismissed in their stories.
Religious trauma recovery addresses harm inflicted within faith communities—spiritual abuse, authoritarian control, identity displacement, and the unique grief of leaving communities that demanded conformity at the cost of dignity. This coaching does not require you to abandon spiritual hunger or embrace cynicism. It guides you through the territory between the old country of invasive religious trauma and the integrated wholeness you seek. I know this terrain. I walk it with you.
You lead from between worlds. You belong by shared values to multiple communities, yet you are not fully indigenous to any single one. You carry gifts your origin community cannot recognize and credentials your aspirational community does not fully honor. This is not a crisis. This is your vocational location. Liminal leadership coaching helps you build authority from this third-space position rather than waiting for permission from gatekeepers whose contracts with your calling have expired.
I work with individuals navigating religious trauma, identity displacement, and leadership without institutional gatekeeping. My clients often stand between worlds—they have left what harmed them but have not yet arrived at what heals them. They carry losses others minimize. They see what others miss. They refuse to choose between honoring their origins and claiming their dignity. If you dwell in liminal space, I hold space for you.
Sessions last 50 minutes. I listen without requiring you to minimize your experiences. I name what I see. If I recognize patterns from my own journey or the journeys of others I have guided, I will say so. We work on building language for experiences that have lived in your body without words, developing practices that support nervous system regulation, and navigating the territory between old identities and integrated wholeness. I do not prescribe destinations. I walk the middle territory with you.
Therapy often focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, processing past trauma through clinical frameworks, and addressing pathology. Coaching is future-oriented and action-focused—we work on goal setting, developing strategies, building practical skills for moving forward, and claiming vocational authority. I integrate trauma-informed care with salutogenic practice, which focuses on what supports the origins of health rather than only treating what is broken. Coaching is not a substitute for mental health treatment when clinical care is needed.
The duration varies. Some clients achieve their goals in three to six months. Others benefit from longer-term support as they navigate complex faith transitions, vocational discernment, or leadership development. We will regularly assess your progress and adjust the plan to meet your needs. I will not rush you toward false arrival.
Yes. I offer secure video conferencing sessions. Virtual sessions provide the same quality of support while offering flexibility and convenience. All of my clients work with me remotely.
I hold a BS in Applied Management, MCS in Counseling, DPTh in Practical Theology, DAAETS as Diplomate American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, and CTRLC certification as Certified Trauma and Resiliency Life Coach. I serve as Senior Faculty and Director of Organizational Programs at the Arizona Trauma Institute and Trauma Institute International. But my deepest qualification is this: I dwell in the liminal space with you. I have traveled the terrain between institutional dependency and vocational ownership. I guide as companion, not distant expert.
Readiness often includes feeling stable enough to focus on future growth, willingness to explore new perspectives, commitment to personal development, and desire to take active steps toward change. If you are navigating the territory between old country and integrated wholeness, if you carry spiritual hunger that refuses to die alongside the wounds inflicted in its name, if you lead from between communities without clear institutional backing—you may be ready. The free consultation helps us determine fit together.
This is not a sales call. This is a 30-minute conversation to assess whether my approach aligns with your journey. I will ask about the terrain you are navigating. You will assess whether I understand it. I will name what I see. You will decide whether that naming resonates or feels forced. We will both determine whether this is well-suited. If we sense alignment, I will describe how we would work together. If not, you will leave with clarity about what you need. There is no pressure to commit during the call.
Yes. All sessions and communications are strictly confidential. The only exceptions are cases where there is risk of harm to yourself or others, or when required by law.
I require 24 hours notice for cancellations. You can reschedule through the online booking system at no additional charge with adequate notice. Late cancellations or missed sessions without notice may be charged the full session fee.
I provide ongoing support to clients, but I am not a crisis service. If you are experiencing a crisis, contact emergency services (911), call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (988), or reach out to your mental health provider.
I do not accept insurance. Payment is cash only, accepted through PayPal or GoDaddy payment services, which process credit and debit cards. Payment is required at the time of booking.
I am committed to your satisfaction and growth. If you have concerns about our coaching work, I want to hear them. Direct conversation about what is and is not working serves the coaching relationship. I will not be defensive. Your feedback helps us work more effectively together.
I offer workshops and speaking engagements on topics including religious trauma recovery, liminal leadership, the courage of non-retaliation, and vocational discernment. Contact me to discuss group offerings or speaking opportunities for your organization or conference.
